The Green Team
The Green Team has been the driving force behind the company’s vision to be recognized as an environmentally responsible company. The team has also succeeded in having some fun while making VSEA greener and more efficient.
For FY10, the team and the company plan was....
- to increase the recycling rate to 45% of total trash
the FY10 recycling rate was 42.3%, a 32% increase over FY09
- to decrease the amount of trash generated per machine shipped by 20%
trash generated per machine decreased by 52%
- to analyze electricity usage numbers and track the company’s carbon footprint
complete
- to complete at least one energy efficient lighting upgrade
complete
In FY11 the Green Team led the business unit in meeting and beating its goals of 45% recycling rate and less than 4.5 tons of trash generated per machine shipped.
